Thing 9
I love You-Tube! The only problem I see with it, is that I could end up spending way too much time watching the videos. I especially love all of the music videos that are available. I am in a handbell choir at my church, so I really liked looking at all of the different handbell choirs and the variety of music that is available for them. I also play flute, so enjoyed watching a flute duet of The Christmas Song. One of my absolute favorites is the Transiberian Orchestra. They have a wonderful song called the Wizards of Winter. Someone posted a video of their song in time to a beautiful light display. Also, I put in the key words, "speech language pathology," which pulled up some great videos about the field of speech language pathology. I am sure there are other videos about other professions as well, which would be a great tool for high school students to use to research various professions and careers as part of their transition training.

Hello Techno Rookie,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your blogs regarding Embedding Videos and You Tube. It is nice to have at least one fellow speech pathologist taking this course.
I am not familiar with Dr. Barbara Ehren. I will have to view more of her videos. This is the first year in a long time that I have not been working with high school students.
I have found that I to am spending much time looking for topical information on You Tube, Flickr, and various bloglines that I attempted to track on my RSS. I could probably use a new computer to assist in my "time management" taking this course and making applications to my practices with my students. This course has really advanced my Internet knowledge so far.
Will look forward to reading more of your comments. Gregory Jacoby
